SeaOwl-XTi

The small ROV with big system power and versatility. 

The SeaOwl-XTi is a 2000m rated vehicle with a six degrees of freedom control system allowing it to access the tightest of spaces. It features Saab Seaeye’s distributed intelligence control system known as iCON™. This control system allows each node on the ROV (thrusters, lights, pan and tilt platform etc.) to be individually controlled, tested, isolated and updated. The proven capabilities of the SeaOwl-XTi combined with the use of iCON™ and a high frequency, high voltage, power supply system make the SeaOwl-XTi a highly agile and powerful observation vehicle.

The SeaOwl-XTi is designed to accommodate a wide range of quick-change tooling skids including a 5-function manipulator, cleaning and NDT skids. The surface equipment can be provided as free standing units or integrated into a control cabin.

SeaOwl-XTi Overview
  • The SeaOwl-XTi ROV is powered by a floor-standing high voltage, high frequency, power supply unit. Additional power supplies are available for TMS options. 

  • Pilot Control Units include touch screens running the graphical user interface (GUI) for vehicle power and control; flight screen monitors that display data and video transmitted via Fibre Optic multiplexers and a CWDM; surface control units for remote control of the PSUs and a hand control unit for the ROV.

  • Additional surface equipment options include TMS foot pedals for the optional TMS, tooling hand control units, video matrix switchers and video recorders. 

  • Operated as a free swimming ROV or in conjunction with a Type 8 Tether Management System (TMS) for depths up to 2000 m.

  • Additional deployment options include an electric winch for free swimming SeaOwl-XTi or an A Frame Launch and Recovery System (LARS) for ROVs equipped with a TMS.

  • ROV rated to 2000 m fitted with four horizontal thrusters and three vertical thrusters, electronics pod, two LED lights, four high resolution cameras, a compass and a depth sensor for vehicle auto heading and auto depth. Auto altitude is available as an option when an altimeter is fitted.

CAM04

High resolution colour or monochrome cameras fitted to either the front of the ROV on the Tilt platform or on a bracket at the rear of the ROV.

FMD Skid

Flooded Member Detector (FMD) skid for mounting an FMD tool. The skid is fixed below the ROV and is used for subsea inspections.

EdgeDVR

Control cabin options include EdgeDVR video recording unit, Video Matrix Switcher, Communications system, and a high-back pilot seat.

Super SeaKing

Scanning Sonar options with an integration kit and surface equipment.

BlueView Sonar

Multibeam Sonar options with an integration kit and surface equipment. Ethernet options available for fibre optic vehicles.

Lynx Water Jet Skid

Deployment Systems & Control Cabins
LARS

A-Frame Safe Area Launch and Recovery System (LARS) with Lock Latch or Snubber options. A Zone II upgrade option is available.

TMS8

Tether Management System (TMS) Type 8 with 250 m of fibre optic tether allowing for the deployment of the ROV at working depth and also providing protection.

Split Cabin

Safe Area 20ft split Control Cabin with a Pilot Control section and a separate high voltage PSU section. Fitted with electric power distribution panels, lighting, air conditioning, heating and 19 inch racks. An optional installed escape hatch is available as is a Zone II upgrade.

Safe Area Cabin 16ft

Safe Area Control Cabin (16 ft) fitted with electric power distribution panels and air conditioning. A Zone II upgrade option is available.

Workshop

Additional cabin options include: 10 ft standalone workshop.
